Frequently Asked Questions
01.
Do you offer smaller wedding packages or elopement packages?
We don’t offer smaller packages, as weddings at The Merribee include exclusive use of the venue and accommodation for 20 guests for two nights.
Our packages are designed to give couples and their guests the best experience—arriving the night before, getting ready onsite, celebrating stress-free, and enjoying a recovery breakfast the next morning. These packages cannot be modified to reduce the price; while couples can forgo certain inclusions if they choose, this won’t affect the cost.
02.
Can we bring our dog to be part of the wedding?
Absolutely! All the villas at The Merribee are pet-friendly, and your furry friends are more than welcome to be part of your special day. We do ask that pets remain on a leash at all times and are not left unattended in the villas.
03.
Can we BYO or use external catering?
As a fully licensed venue, we don’t allow external caterers or bar staff. However, we offer a range of catering packages to suit all tastes and dietary requirements—from informal buffet-style options to three-course plated meals.

Check-in time is 3pm for the in-house wedding guests, but we request the couple to arrive around 1pm for a pre-wedding meeting before guests arrive.

Yes, we do! We offer a beautiful wedding hall that can accommodate up to 130 guests for indoor receptions. It has four large sandwich doors that open fully to the crepe myrtle garden and outdoor dance floor, with stunning views of the open field at the rear of the property. The hall also includes a covered verandah area, perfect for setting up your band and bar.

The hall has four white beams, perfect for custom draping, chandeliers, or floral installations—allowing you to create a beautifully personalized atmosphere for your wedding reception.

You can also bring marquees to be set up at the back of the property to host undercover cocktail hour, reception dinner or dancefloor.

What’s the backup plan for ceremonies and cocktail hour?
For indoor ceremonies or cocktail hour, Maywild Cottage provides an intimate and charming setting. Surrounded by our rose and winter garden and directly facing the lavender field, it offers a romantic backdrop ideal for special moments, rain or shine.
16.
What time is the ceremony, reception and dance floor? Do you have any curfew?
The runsheet is entirely up to each couple and often varies depending on the season.

We generally recommend earlier ceremonies during winter—around 1:00pm or 2:00pm—to make the most of the available daylight. In summer, ceremonies typically begin later, around 3:00 tp 3:30pm, allowing you to enjoy more sunlight and perfectly time your sunset photos to coincide with your reception.

Our curfew is 10:30pm, with all non-staying guests required to depart by 11:00pm. In-house guests are welcome to continue the celebrations in one of the villas, however, all communal areas must be vacated by 11:00pm.
17.
Regarding reception food: Whether food stations or cocktail style, how long is the food served?
The reception usually lasts between 2.5 to 3 hours, but the timeline is up to the couple. Due to food safety regulations, all leftover food from the stations is packed down after two hours.
